By , On , In Blog

Greetings to all the inquisitive minds! At Goodr, we deeply appreciate your curiosity and the desire to learn more about our company and the work we do. We are delighted to address some of the frequently asked questions we get about Goodr. Our core values revolve around transparency and creating a meaningful impact, and it is our pleasure to shed light on the essence of our mission. Let’s begin this journey together and uncover the heart of Goodr!

What does Goodr actually do?

Goodr is a certified B-Corp leveraging technology and logistics to fight food waste and end hunger. We have two types of solutions we offer to achieve this: Food Waste Solutions and Hunger Solutions.  For our Food Waste Solutions, we manage surplus food from businesses – routing edible food to local nonprofit organizations and/or getting inedible food to compost instead of landfill. Through our technology, we track waste and diversion data and provide valuable insights to our partnering businesses. For our Hunger Solutions, we source high quality, culturally sensitive groceries and meals to deliver to food-insecure communities across the country, our ultimate goal here at Goodr is to create a more sustainable food system and contribute to hunger relief by ensuring that we feed more and waste less.

Who do we work with?

At Goodr, our collaborative efforts extend to various partners in the community through our Food Waste Solutions and Hunger Relief solutions. We have corporate partners, healthcare companies, and celebrity partners like CJ McCollum and Lil Baby who work with us on our Hunger Solutions – focused on feeding those in need. We also work closely with corporate cafeterias, healthcare companies, event venues, universities, airports, and other businesses where there is more of a focus on surplus food recovery, organics recycling, and holistic waste management. By working together with these entities, we’re not only minimizing environmental impact but also uplifting the lives of those facing food insecurity.

How do our Food Waste Solutions and Hunger Relief Solutions Work together?

Food Waste Solutions and Hunger Relief Solutions are two crucial components of our mission. With Food Waste Solutions, we connect businesses that have surplus food with nonprofits that can use it to feed people in need. On the other hand, Hunger Relief Solutions involve purchasing high-quality, culturally sensitive groceries and meals to support those facing food insecurity directly. Though they have different approaches, both solutions work hand in hand to fight hunger and minimize food waste.

Is Goodr a nonprofit?

Though Goodr is not a nonprofit, we are a social enterprise and a certified B Corp business. As a B Corp, we are proud to meet rigorous business standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Doing good is at the core of our business model, and being a B Corp keeps us focused on creating a positive impact while also driving sustainable growth.

Is Goodr just in Atlanta?

Goodr started in Atlanta, but we’ve expanded our work nationwide with partners like Southern Dallas Thrives (SDT), Amazon, Aetna, and more. With the ability to activate our services in various communities throughout the country, we are excited to continue extending our impact and bringing our mission to even more regions.
